This article is specific for accounts using the Mailchimp integration AND want to use the Forms module with the Birthday, Short Text and/or Long Text fields. If you are looking to pass user submissions through these fields please read on.

Many CRM tools consider these fields standard, but from the perspective of Mailchimp they are custom fields. In order to have the information submitted through these fields go directly into the contact profile in your Mailchimp account, there are some extra steps required.

*Note that you can always find the full list of submission data in your Digiphy account under Team Settings > Submissions.

*If you are using the Google Sheets, or Klaviyo integrations you can ignore this article. They will automatically be connected and submitted as expected.

Setting up custom fields

1. Go to "All Contacts"

2. Select your "Audience"

3. Navigate to "Audience fields and *|MERGE|* tags"

4. Scroll down and click "Add A Field"

5. Choose the field type "Text" twice

6. Specify the keys "TEXT_SHORT" and "TEXT_LONG"

7. Set the UI labels for TEXT_SHORT and TEXT_LONG to say "Short text" and "Long text" respectively.

8. Click "Save Changes"

9. Generate an event using a form with text fields.

10. Check the contacts list and the single contact view to ensure the text fields are present.
